AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): Teachers’ crisis has hit the Govt schools in Tripura due to the slow recruitment process. Like every day, on Friday also reports of teachers’ crisis came from a school in Teliamura where students are going to school just for roll calls and hardly get any class to attend. Lembuchara Primary School in Teliamura suffers due to a Teachers' crisis. Only 2 teachers are appointed in the whole school. Talking to the school teachers, they said it’s impossible for them to provide proper education to the children due to the number of teachers. Anyhow they are managing to keep the children inside the classes by clubbing the classes together.
Students also complained about the crisis and told the media that only 1 or 2 classes they get and then they have to spend the hours without doing anything.
Tripura has a load of over 3,500 TET qualified teachers and over 7,000 teachers’ training received passed out youths, but there is a huge gap between the demand and supplies of teachers.
It is affecting education quality and also burdening the existing Govt teachers with proxy classes, and equally, it's increasing the unemployment rate every year. Over 20,000 teachers' posts are left vacant.
