UDAIPUR, July 19 (TIWN): School students are in protest almost everyday in Tripura being deprived of their basic facilities in Schools. On Tuesday, national highway was blocked by students in Udaipur’s Gokulpur area after they failed to get any response about the situation’s development in school from the authority. The Gokulpur school is reportedly deprived of electricity as well as drinking water for months. Students wrote applications to the headmaster, class teachers but nothing happened. On being asked, a teacher today scolded students and mocked them by asking them to bring AC machines and fans from their houses. Students expressed heavy resentment over the attitudes of the teacher. Guardians also complained about the situation as amid such extreme summer without fans and water, students are becoming sick. Due to the road blockade heavy traffic jam occurred in the area but the students refused to leave the road unless DM or SDM level officer talks to them about their problems.

Later after getting assurance of solution to their problems, the students withdrew their protests.

Statewide everyday due to teachers crisis and many other issues, students are protesting but the Education Minister lives in his imaginary paradise, keeps on claiming “Tripura is emerging as No-1 state in India in Education Sector”.
