TIWN July 16, 2022

AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Umakanta School students’ parents held a protest on Saturday by blocking roads. The main reason for the road blockade was over the transfer of a School teacher identified as Jhalak Dey.

A parent said that in the School the teacher Jhalak Dey is the most dynamic teacher and so they don’t want the teacher to be transferred.

The parents alleged that earlier also, many good teachers were transferred.

The parents also added that the renowned School is running with only 9 teachers and due to the shortage of teachers most of the time different classes are taken jointly.

Allegations raised that class continues without a fan, Mid-day meal given in an unhygienic state, and drinking water crisis prevails. Toilet rooms’ conditions are very pathetic, without light the kids often get scared to enter inside the toilets.

The parents expressed extreme angst against the Education System. Later a protest was staged at the Education Office, where the Director of the Education Dept talked to the guardians.
