AGARTALA, January 8 (TIWN): The Parliamentary Standing Committee met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in Tripura. The MP team expressed their pleasure over the production of Bamboo and rubber in Tripura during the meeting with CM.
The 12 members MP team said that they are highly impressed with the production of the rubber and Bamboo cultivation in the state. Following which Chief Minister Manik Sarkar urged the team to stress on the possibility of rubber and bamboo based industry with the Prime Minister. Besides, Mr. Sarkar also said that the state govt. will write to PM Modi on this issue.
During the meeting with the Parliamentary Standing Committee CM Manik Sarkar said that to succeed the “Act East Policy” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the basic infrastructures should be developed first in the North-eastern states. And the central govt. should come forward on this issue. He mentioned that if the Bangladesh Ashuganj Port can be accessed than the NE states will be benefited at large.
However, later the MP team also expressed their pleasure over the erection of the border haat in Tripura. During the meeting Chief Secretary GK Rao along with Secretary (Industry and Commerce) Lokaranjan remained present.
