AGARTALA, July 12 (TIWN): Tripura Congress on Tuesday declared that the Party can be “Merciful” but also “Harsh” if the situation demands. The statement came from Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman after a Broad Daylight attack took place on the Congress party during a meeting at Bishramganj. Addressing media at Congress State Headquarter, the Congress MLA also lambasted the Police’s role as this is not the first time that attacks are being held on Congress or other opposition parties in front of Police.
Targeting Police, Barman said, “Aren’t you President’s award winner ? Please do the minimum to keep the democracy alive. Or if anything happens from tomorrow, you (Police) will be considered as responsible”.
During an internal party meeting at Bishramganj, suddenly BJP party workers with sticks in their hands vandalized Congress members’ vehicles in front of police. The video of such attacks by the BJP were released on social media.
