AGARTALA / SABROOM, July 6 (TIWN): Amid 3631 TET qualified youths sitting unemployed, students continue to protest against the teachers' crisis in Tripura. On Tuesday, students of Samarendra Ganj Higher Secondary school blocked the road in protest against the massive teachers’ crisis. As per record, the school has 200 students but the numbers of teachers are only 8. Tripura’s teachers’ crisis problem which was existing for a long time took an ugly shape after the termination of 10323 teachers. Over 8000 teachers were employed until the ad-hoc contract was over. Question raises when so many vacant posts are remaining and why does not the Govt recruiting 3,631 teachers at a time?
Also every year many teachers are going into retirement but the fresh recruitment process is very slow. As a result, when on the one side, unemployment problems have gripped the state, on the other side, teachers’ crisis hit the schools taking the Education system in a blind direction.
