AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Former Tripura Congress State President, Tipra Motha Chairman Pradyot Manikya on Monday banged the group of critics, especially the turncoat politicians, who joined BJP and had always have had a problem with Pradyot Manikya regardless how much efforts were taken by him to prove them wrong. Back in 2019 Pradyot Manikya quit Congress amid BJP and regional party members were raising doubts about his “Poila Jati, Ulo Party” commitment. Question raised, how could Pradyot Manikya serve the Tiprasa people with NRC like issues when Congress is against NRC’s implementation in India from Assam’s consequence perspective. IPFT and BJP both accused Pradyot Manikya of misusing the Tiprasa people’s sentiment. Shutting down the roars of critics, Pradyot Manikya quit Congress and created his own party Tipra Motha with “Greater Tipraland” demand and within a short period the party turned super-success winning the ADC poll massively, but now Pradyot Manikya again is being accused by the same group that he is misusing Tiprasa sentiment and dividing people.

Ironically, many leaders who demanded Tipraland earlier like Mangal Debbarma, Patal Kanya have joined BJP party quitting their ideology.

Mocking such critics, on Monday, Pradyot Manikya said, “Some years ago some group had a problem that i was not supporting the Tiprasa cause and was in a national party ! They told me that I was betraying my people - Today they have become a part of a national party and I am in the regional party fighting for our people #Thoughts #Irony then I was a bubagra for them now I am MDC proodoot”.

Back in 2019, Pradyot Manikya emerged as a strong opposition leader, raising the slogan of “Cholo Ultai” against BJP and successfully uplifted Congress as the second opposition party in Lok Sabha poll amid heavy rigging, violence held by BJP but over disputes with Congress regarding NRC like issues, Pradyot Manikya quit Congress.

Now, the people who welcomed Pradyot Manikya for his new Regional party-led mission, many of them joined BJP.

Right now, Pradyot Manikya’s party Tipra Motha is ruling ADC and also being a regional party it has become the second in an SC post in the recently held by-poll marking a maiden achievement by any regional party in non-ST seat.

In the upcoming 2023 Assembly poll, 20 ST seats would matter a huge which are in favor of Pradyot Manikya’s Tipra Motha Party.
