BELONIA (South Tripura), June 25 (TIWN): In another inhuman move rubber gardens of poor farmers were destroyed by BJP Govt at Durgapur Gram Panchayat’s BOP Raj Nagar village at Belonia as the Govt has been against new rubber gardens’ grow.
But the move came from the Govt not during the cultivation process or before that but when the plants were matured, suddenly all plants were destroyed which has devastated the farmers.
CPI-M leader, MLA Sudhan Das visited the spot and condemned the inhuman move taken by the Govt. He asked, why selectively few farmers are being targeted and said that the attitude of the Govt must be changed.
Das's statement gets a ground from a humanitarian angle as a Govt is given power not to torture people but to organize, and distribute everything equally. What was the harm if the Govt could provide at least another year to the farmers to stop rubber cultivation?
