AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): Tripura by-polls were conducted amid massive allegations from opposition on voters' intimidation, video evidences of rigging attempts by BJP.

Over 76.62 per cent of the 1,89,032-strong electorate cast their votes on Thursday in the by-elections to four Assembly constituencies in Tripura amid some stray incidents of violence, officials said.

BJP on Thursday had launched massive poll rigging, fake voters but due to strong steps taken by paramilitary force, voters and also media persons many were caught.

It was unearthed that a "White Yarn" tied around the wrist is the symbol of BJP's Fake Voters. All culprits are wearing thread of same colour in hands.

Tripura Congress has demanded re-polling in 12, 13 and 55 number booths.The demand was raised as massive fake vote casting was reported there and also a large numbers of Congress voters could not cast their votes. Polling rigging videos have been published in various media.

Journalist of Social Bangla TV channel Subham Debnath was brutally attacked by BJP goons, later taken to IGM hospital. The attacked journalist said, the miscreants who attacked him were carrying weapons with them.

Some senior citizens were attacked, many could not cast votes. Webcasting and Videography however prevented booth-capturing which happened in last Municipal and Lok Sabha poll.
