AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): State Election Commission continues to press the facts that free and fair polls are to be conducted tomorrow as all safety and security measures were taken to ensure a fair poll unlike previous Elections held in Tripura in last few years. In case of Tripura polls, now Election Commission members are directly accepting that after 2018 Tripura polls were intimidated, ECI guidelines were violated and people could not cast votes. Now, the State Election authority said this time by-polls will be more strictly monitored than 2018.

However, netizens say that won’t believe the officers’ statements until they can cast their votes.

On Sunday, in a deadly attack by BJP Congress 6-Agartala candidate Sudip Roy Barman was injured severely, though so far no arrest took place.

However, the Election Commission would raid today in Agartala’s both constituencies to find out whether any outsider has taken shelter there or not.

Section 144 was imposed in both constituencies of Agartala after the constituencies were declared as highly sensitive zones.

Tripura by-polls to be held tomorrow in four constituencies : 1) 6-Agartala, 2) Bordowali, 3) Jubaraj Nagar, 4) Surma.
