AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Tripura Opposition leader, former CM Manik Sarkar has demanded Tripura’s booths immediately should be announced as hyper sensitive and there should be the massive deployment of paramilitary forces. Manik Sarkar also demanded that from Counting rooms to strong rooms should be secured by paramilitary forces. “No outsider came in poll campaigning can reside in any hotel, home and residentials. Election Commission must ensure that. The bike-bahini should be immediately detained”, said Sarkar.
“Polling agents must be taken to booths with securities because, the Election Commission in state knows what happened in previous polls. Election agents and candidates must be provided security”, said Manik Sarkar.
"A candidate has been attacked and not a single police officer met him to take his statement. It's a Jungle Raj", said Sarkar.
The statement came from Manik Sarkar ahead of by-polls in four constituencies of Tripura --- 1) Surma, 2) Jubaraj Nagar, 3) Bordowali, 4) Agartala-6.
On Sunday night, a deadly attack had taken place on Congress candidate Sudip Roy Barman at Abhoy Nagar in the presence of Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
