AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Social media users have slammed Tripura’s former Chief Minister Biplab Deb who was recently dropped from the post of CM, after he visited the relief camps at his Banamalipur constituency. Amid Congress had demanded an investigation in thousand crores SMART City project fund utilization, BJP leaders continue to blame the “record breaking” raining behind Agartala flood. Netizens have called Biplab Deb a cheat, some of them have called shameless for his fake promises on flood problem diminishing, where he said, “No Flood from 2019”. Biplab Deb in 2018 after becoming CM assured that “No Flood From 2019” and then thousand crores central funds were drawn but there is Zero-progress in this water logging issue.

As a result there is no better-days for the common men although this BJP Govt has burdened the people with massive taxations and price hikes. House-tax, water-tax all were increased by this Govt since 2018.  Houses have gone under water, shops are filled with rain water. Common men were bound to walk through the dirty water as the entire city put in deadlock like condition due to water logging.

Tripura Congress Bordowali constituency candidate Asish Saha who is the opposite candidate of CM Manik Saha in the upcoming by-poll on June 23rd asked Saha to work on diminishing the water logging problem of the city instead of creating scenes in front of media by monitoring water logging of the city. “We all are watching water-logging. There is nothing to see water-logging from monitoring room. There must be a thorough investigation on what happened to the SMART City project’s 1000 crores funds. In last four years many tall claims were made amid central funded thousand crores but today this is the outcome. They are claiming within few hours water level will be decreased but there is no sign of decreasing, rather water level is getting higher”, said Asish Saha on Friday after rain flooded Agartala city.

On Friday, public lives were heavily disrupted due to flood like situations gripped Agartala’s various corners. Officer goers, students and vehicle drivers, pedestrians had faced massive hurdles while crossing the roads. City was paralyzed for hours as the water went till the waist level.
