AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Although no official alliance was not done between the national party Congress and Tripura regional, ADC ruling party Tipra Motha, but Congress has appealed people to vote for Tipra Motha at Surma. Congress leader Gopal Roy in a press meet on Saturday stated, that if BJP wants to rig the poll, it should be readied to see the consequences. “We will fight at our fullest to stop booth capturing and rigging in by-polls. Central Congress also has said it will give us full support. In Surma, Congress has not given any candidate but we foresee for a non-BJP votes’ collaboration will outcast the BJP. We will give our full support to Tipra Motha party there”, said Gopal Roy.
Out of four by-poll constituencies, Congress has announced 3 candidates for Agartala-6, Town Bordowali, Jubarajnagagar. In remaining Surma constituency, Tipra Motha has announced SC candidate.
Tripura By-Polls are to be held on June 23rd and the result publication is scheduled for 26th June.
