AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): Public blocked Agartala-Sonamura national highway in protest against drinking water crisis on Friday.

The BJP-IPFT alliance Govt promised in Vision Document to solve drinking water crisis in every household but after four years of Governance, the Govt could not fulfil its given promise in 4.3 years.

As a result the people of various areas are suffering miserably which led to block roads often across the state demanding drinking water. Reportedly, locals of Rangamati Gram Panchayat Ward-1 are suffering massively for the past 6 months over the crisis of drinking water. The drinking water crisis was reportedly informed to the Gram Pradhan and members but the matter was not resolved.

Seeing no response from local leaders for long the local people blockade Sonamura-Agartala NH with buckets and pitchers demanding drinking water. Resulting a massive number of vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road. The local people clearly said that they will not remove the blockade until their matter is solved.

Prior to the Poll leaders campaigns at their localities demanding vote with promise to solve their issues in localities but ground reality is after winning the leaders set foot back from solving problems in their localities. Resulting, the fate of people has remained as it was.
