AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): Reportedly, on Tuesday the BJP held a meeting at the Singlung Community Hall adjacent to Taidu Bazar. Patalkanya Jamatiya was supposed to come there to join the BJP’s joining programme. But the local women group did not allow any vehicle to move forward raising slogan ‘Go Back PatalKanya’.

Centering this a heavy clash erupted among Police and local people. Police and civilian vehicles were vandalized reportedly in this scuffle.

Later, the police fired tear gas on the agitators to remove them from the spot. MP Rebati Tripura, Minister Rampad Jamatia witnessed the whole incident from the front as sources said that they also faced protests on the way to the meeting.
