BISHALGARH, May 29 (TIWN): Tension erupted at Bishalgarh sub-divisional hospital on Saturday evening over ambulance crisis after two accident patients were referred to Agartala GB hospital but could not be transported for long due to ambulance crisis. A 38 years old man Litan Das who was on the way to Agartala from East Gokulnagar in his bike bearing number TR01L6014 hit a pedestrian Rajib Debbarma at the Gate No-2. In that incident both Litan Das and Rajib Debbarma were injured. Fire Brigade team rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to the hospital and both were referred to GB hospital but problem started when the hospital offered one ambulance for two critical patients. Moreover, the lights were not working in the hospital which turned the primary treatment of the patient critical and torches had to use for bandages.

Family members of Litan Das created chaos saying, both patients have to be sent by two ambulances.

Centering the incident, tension erupted in the hospital premise and heated arguments were exchanged between the on-duty Doctor Tannishtha Chakraborty and the patient parties.

Patient parties said, there was another ambulance in the hospital but the authority was not releasing it.

However, from the Doctor's point, the patient party of Litan Das acted in selfish manner and did not allow critically injured Rajib Debbarma to get a place in the ambulance.

Question also raise over the ambulance crisis in Tripura State Hospitals amid Govt's claims about massive transformation in health sector.
