AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): The youth wing of CPI-M DYFI organised youth convention and protest rally on Wednesday at Paikhola area under South district. The convention was attended by DYFI sub-division president Subrata Das, state committee member Rakesh Biswas, Gautam Sen and other youth leaders, in protest of rising commodity prices, and various demands including filling of vacancies, giving jobs to the unemployed TET qualified candidates, provision of 10,323 jobs etc.
After the convention, DYFI and CPI (M) Pikhola Region Committee organized the first protest procession and protest meeting after the change of government.
CPI-M senior leader Tapash Datta, Trilokesh Sinha, a member of the divisional committee, Nirmal Bhowmik, former chairman of Bharat Chandra Nagar block and other leaders and activists were present. He called on the government to take immediate steps to control the rise in prices of essential commodities.
