According to the report, a container vehicle from Agartala to Guwahati had to cross the Tripura border to enter the Assam Churaibari police gate. Acting on tip off the border police seized huge amount of dry cannabis from the vehicle after searching.

 

Police in-charge Niranjan Das said that the value of the seized cannabis is around Rs 55 lakh. Meanwhile, the car was loaded with rubber seeds besides cannabis. However, in this case, the Assam Police has started investigation to find the main culprit by arresting the driver and co-driver of the vehicle and filing a case under NDPS Act.
