AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): Gomati District Book Fair was held in Udaipur but on Tuesday night in the hit of Kalbaishakhi storm (Nor'westers storm) 16 book stalls on the fairgrounds were completely destroyed causing a loss of several lakhs of rupees.
A five-day Gomati district book fair was organized in Udaipur from April 17 to April 21 and on the 3rd Day 16 stalls in the fair were knocked down by the storm. Thousands of books got wet in an instant. Some of the traders in the fair premises hurried away and saved their lives somehow.
After getting information in the morning, high-ranking officials of district and sub-divisional administration including chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Corporation Shital Chandra Majumder rushed there and checked the damage amount.
