AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): Tripura Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty has told media that IPFT MLA Birshketu Debbarma who resigned from MLA post is still carrying the MLA post as no solution has come out in the matter. Earlier, though Brishketu Debbarma had resigned from the MLA post, IPFT's the then President N.C.Debbarma complained Brishketu Debbarma’s resignation was not appropriate. Now whether Brishketu Debbarma’s resignation will be accepted or he will be suspended as per anti-defection law, is not sure but the Speaker said the decision will come out soon.
Brishketu Debbarma who was elected as MLA from IPFT party was upset with the party due to its extreme compromise with political ally BJP. The IPFT leader then joined Tipra Motha party resigning from the MLA post, but speaker yet has not accepted the resignation letter.
