AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): With the joint initiative of the leftist student youth organization SFI-DYFI-TYF-TSU a meeting was held on the completion of 50th Anniversary of Unemployment. Abhay Mukherjee, All India General Secretary of DYFI, Palash Bhowmik, State President of DYFI, Mallika Sheel and others were present at the discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the All India General Secretary of DYFI said that the unemployment rate is increasing day by day in the country and this is the first time since after independence that the unemployment rate is highest under the Modi era. Abhay Mukherjee also said about UP’s election that People have voted against BJP in UP as BJP's seats and votes have dropped significantly.

He added that the Left has achieved significant results in the recent Panchayat and District council elections in Himachal Pradesh. Besides, the Left has done well in the just-concluded by-elections in West Bengal
