AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): One after another daring crime incidents are raising fingers at the deteriorating Law and order in the state. It is known miscreants raided Bishnu Acharjee, and his wife Tulsi Acharjee's (58) house at Udaipur, Rajarbagh last night and killed Tulsi Acharjee by strangulating her with towel. The miscreants also tied the house owner Bishnu Acharjee’s hand and leg and made him unconscious using chemicals.
Around 1 am when the husband regained consciousness, he started screaming and on hearing his screams the neighbours rushed to the scene. They rescued Bishnu Acharjee and informed Police. Immediately a large police force including SDPO Dhruva Nath reached the spot.
It is known after killing the housewife the miscreants looted gold ornaments including cash. The murder was allegedly done by a man Abhi near Matarbari Dighir Par and another was involved in this connection. However, Police arrested both the accused, and the case is under investigation.
This incident has caused a great stir in the area.
According to police sources, the boy named Abhi was released from jail 3 months ago for stealing a bike.
