AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Tension prevails at Dharmanagar, North Tripura due to intentional violence provocation activities by the ruling BJP, and police personnel team was standing like puppets ad no order came from the authority to disperse the crowd. Ahead of Congress's Rally, BJP workers had gheraoed Congress programme area, provoking violence and the entire incident remained without any action taken against the unpermitted gathering of BJP with loud-speakers, mikes. A chaos-like situation was created due to BJP's disturbance and use of microphone during Congress leaders' speeches but Congress leaders continued speeches, slamming the BJP over its hooliganism under Biplab Deb’s order.

BJP workers who were not although at huge numbers, used mike / loud-speaker when Congress leaders were holding meeting and various leaders were delivering speeches.

Addressing the masses, Sudip Roy Barman also criticized Police for their failure to control such provocations and gatherings.

However, sufficient numbers of police were deployed but there was no action to remove the unpermitted crowd of the BJP.

So far no violence occurred but the situation remained tense. However the strength of BJP was very low in the area as North Tripura always remained pro-Congress although voted for BJP in 2018 due to the leaders' joining in BJP on that time.
