AGARTALA, Feb 27 (TIWN): Democracy in peril, and no law and order left in Tripura under BJP regime as BJP Govt has licensed bike-hooligans to conduct violence openly, without police action. Resigned BJP MLA, Sudip Roy Barman and many Congress workers were injured after BJP miscreant’s hooliganism on stage.

Sudip Roy Barman alleged that Police had information about BJP’s pre-planned attack.

Barman said, “Police had information about it and that’s why despite taking permission 4 days before Police requested us at 4 pm to cancel the programme for the sake of law and order”.

Barman’s statement clarifies that Police were well informed that Law and order would deteriorate and this was the reason Police requested Congress to cancel the Programme.

It was alleged that the Police did not play a role accordingly, and instead of detaining attackers it has been seen that after one day of the incident, the victim Congress workers were arrested.

Centering Police’s inactive, slumber role Sudip Roy Barman on Saturday asked Police to wear their wives' Jewellery.

However, Police’s similar role was seen in the Sept 8, 2021 incident as despite having strong CCTV footage evidence Police did not arrest the attackers who vandalized media houses like Pratibadi kalam and PB24 office and generated Riot by burning CPIM party offices in the name of a massive rally. Ahead of Municipal Poll, during TMC leader Sayani Ghosh's visit, BJP goons entered police station and attacked TMC, journalists but in that case also police failed to take action.
