ASTABAL STADIUM (Agartala), Feb 24 (TIWN): Lashing out at the BJP led State Govt, CPI-M national leader Prakash Karat said, the Modi Govt is destroying the structure of democracy and targeting the opposition with extreme laws under fabricated cases. Referring to Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik’s arrest by ED on Wednesday Prakash Karat said, “Just because, he has been a consistent critic of the Modi Govt’s wrongdoings, he has been targeted. Today Central agencies like CBI, ED are working as per the politically motivated instructions. Under UAPA law, which was introduced to control terrorism, opposition leaders, critics are put behind the bar without bails for uncertain time”.

“BJP is target is just to convert India into a Hindu Rashtra which is the mission of RSS and CM like Yogi openly announces vote-battle based on religious favour”, said Karat.

“Price hike is a big issue and just wait till the Election, petrol price is going to shoot at Rs. 150”, said Karat. 

CPI-M party has organized the rally in Astabal stadium today ahead of the 23rd State Conference which will start from tomorrow. 

CPI-M National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, former State Secretary Prakash Karat, Tripura Opposition leader Manik Sarkar were present as the main figures to address the programme”.

Addressing the gathering, Jitendra Chowdhury CPI-M state secretary called for peace and harmony in this state to fight back the communal disturbances and to unseat the BJP which is torturing the people everyday in this state.

National CPI-M leader Prakash Karat slammed the Modi Govt for destroying the "secular" structure of the democracy in India.
