AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): A 46-year-old patient died in IGM Hospital allegedly due to a delay in treatment. Family members alleged that even though Doctor had prescribed oxygen but the medical staff delayed in providing equipment and after death, oxygen was given. The deceased has been identified as Nagendra Das (46) from Teliamura. Talking to the family members, one of them said, “Doctors clearly wrote oxygen and some other things immediately for the patient, but when we asked them to immediately give the patient oxygen, the official on duty scolded us saying, Doctor has not prescribed oxygen. Then when we pressurized, he threw the prescription. After the death of the patient, he did a drama by putting oxygen mask”.
The patient party said, if the hospital does not take action, they will lodge an FIR.
