AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): Supreme Court recently in an order reminded ‘Right to Life’ added ‘Right to Livelihood’ also which restricts the authority from depriving citizens of livelihood. But just by giving a 7 days notice to poor people whose half population are uneducated or can’t deal with notices legally, Tripura BJP Govt and its AMC continue to vandalize, damage poor people’s stalls in Agartala when it was expected from the Govt to ensure their alternative arrangements in "appropriate places". Before AMC election, the vendors were never informed by BJP candidates that the vendors will be evicted like this.
However, Tripura Municipal election was a total robbing and the evidences of violence are available in social media, online media which can not be challenged by the Govt and Election Commission but after winning by massive rigging, now, BJP led AMC and various Municipal corporation bodies are busy in evicting the vendors with 7 days notice.
All the tea stalls, small shops were removed and thrown into trucks by AMC when no shopkeeper came to the spot for today’s business.
On being asked, an official said, “We had provided notice before 7 days of the eviction”.
Such moves are increasing unemployment, work-less conditions further when Tripura ranks 3rd in unemployment rate.
