AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): Amid Health Minister, Biplab Deb's claims that Tripura's Health Services are better than Hyderabad and Mumbai, Tripura’s biggest Hospital GB is reeling under shortages of Dialysis machines. The Kidney patients who are depending only in GBP hospital for Dialysis, are facing harassment to get dialysis properly due to shortages and Non-functional Dialysis machines.
It is known that earlier there were 12 Dialysis machines but now most of the machines remained Non-functional, and the hospital staff are providing services only with 3-4 machines. The matter was informed to MS (Medical Superintendent), but the MS has only been promising to resolve the issue but at the end no fruitful outcome the Patient party has seen.
Every day on average 50 patients have been coming for dialysis but due to shortages of Dialysis machines the patient is unable to get Dialysis as per need.
It’s quite impossible to provide services with a minimum numbers of Dialysis machines. Raising this issue the Patient parties placed deputation to the MS demanding more machines.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the GBP Hospital will be able to solve the issue or it will remain the same and force kidney patients to die.
