AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): "Tripura ruling BJP Govt’s slogan ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ has remained only in slogan as in reality the Govt has taken steps to clean the road in the name of making ‘Smart City", said a leader of the CITU, CPI-M's workers' union while agitating at the AMC Office against hawkers' eviction.
CITU leader Shankar Prasad Datta said, "After forming BJP Govt in Tripura, the Govt illegally and forcefully bulldozed organizational offices in various areas. After not getting the public votes, by making the election a farce BJP then won in Municipality Poll and after grabbing the Municipality, the Govt remained busy in evicting the Poor Vendors forcefully without making alternative arrangements".
"The Supreme Court had given a verdict that if any Poor vendors are continuing business without harassing road goers then they could not be evicted, if an initiative is taken to evict the poor vendors then alternative arrangements should be done", said the CITU Leader.
The CITU demanded that Poor vendors should not be evicted without generating alternative arrangements.
