AGARTALA, Feb 1 (TIWN): Housewife was brutally tortured by husband in Bishalgarh. The incident took place in Rautkhla area under Bishalgarh police station.

According to the details of the incident, the victim was married to Dip Saha in Rautkhla area under Bishalgarh police station in Golaghati area following a social custom.

After giving birth to a son after one year of marriage, wife Jhuma Debnath was subjected to extreme torture.

Allegedly, her husband Dip Saha is constantly addicted to drugs and abuses his wife Jhuma Debnath.

Jhuma Debnath was sleeping with her one-year-old child on Tuesday morning when her husband allegedly started beating her with a sharp weapon and a stick. Jhuma fell to the ground due to her husband's attack.

After seeing this, the neighbours of Jhuma rushed her to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital.
