AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): Locals became restless due to the increasing consumption of drugs among youths. A man who obstructed along with other villagers to youth in selling drugs, later the man was beaten up brutally. The incident took place at East Champamura.

A man identified as Kajal Malakar, destroying the East Champamura area by selling drugs in the area. Locals several times informed the local PS including Pradhan of the village but nothing was done. Police earlier seized around Rs 10 lakh’s drugs including cash from Kajal Malakar.

It is alleged several youths come to his house to buy drugs from him. Noticing his drug empire, the locals decided to evict him from his house, accordingly he was evicted. But after 2 days of eviction the drug seller, Kajal Malakar by using miscreants, beat up a local named Rajesh Malakar brutally, and it is suspecting due to obstruction he was beaten up.

The incident generated tension in the area and locals demanded the matter should be resolved immediately otherwise the next generation will be destroyed.
