AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Police administration's brutality was again noticed on 10,323 teachers today. The teachers who were observing ‘Black Day’ in Agartala City were detained by Police and taken to ‘Detention Camp’ forcefully.
Huge Police forces were deployed to detain the terminated teachers, who were protesting peacefully raising questions on ‘State Govt’s unfulfilled promise to the teachers’.
Previous year on 27th Jan, 2020 while the teachers were protesting in front of City Center seeking their lost job back, they were attacked by Police brutally and lathi charge was done on them. Due to the brutal attack of Police on teachers on 27th Jan 2020, several teachers had received severe injuries. From that perspective, the JMC Committee decided that 27th Jan will be observed as ‘BLACK DAY’ until their problem is solved.
While the teachers today were observing ‘BLACK DAY’, they were arrested by Police.
Condemning the arrest, a terminated teacher, Kamal Deb stated, “We were observing BLACK DAY by maintaining COVID protocols but police without any reason have arrested us”.
