AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): Breaking the stereotypes, 52 women of Tripura have registered their names under the Motor Driving Training session of the Urban Development Department.
The project is under National Urban Livelihood. Minister Santana Chakma and Urban Development Mission Director Sailesh Yadav along with AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder inaugurated the programme.
Welcoming the trainees, Minister Santana Chakma said, “I would request all of you to take the opportunity given by the Govt and to be self-dependent. I promise you can do it. In our school days, we saw a lot of students chose to sit at the last benches because they wanted to hide from all attention. Today, it’s the time to come out of the backbencher mindset and to take steps to establish yourself”.
"Who says, only men can drive? Cite that women can do everything", said AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder to the trainees.
The Minister said that if utilized such projects will help the state to reduce unemployment.
