TELIAMUARA, Jan 16 (TIWN): Two youths were beaten up by locals for being allegedly involved in drug consumption and trading. The incident took place in North Brahmachara area under Teliamura PS.

It is known that a young man named Biki Banik, a resident of North Brahmachari visited Suman Debnath's house on Saturday night, and after coming out from his house locals started beating Biki Banik on suspicion of drug consumption. Noticing this when Suman came out from his house to obstruct, he was also beaten up by locals.

The information about the happening was given to Teliamura Police Station. After receiving the report, the police rescued the two young people from the spot. Both the injured youths were taken to Teliamura Hospital. Meanwhile, hospital sources said that Biki Banik is used to consume drug as several jabbed mark was found in his hand.

On the other hand, according to local sources, Biki Banik often comes to Sumon Debnath's house to take drugs. Later Biki Banik admitted that he had come to Sumon Debnath's house to take drugs. Teliamura police said that the matter is under investigation.
