Agartala, Dec 30 (TIWN): Two-day long state level Jari Sari Utsav is scheduled to be started from February 14 at Muktadhara Auditorium and it would be continued till February 15.
To mark the festival, a preparatory meeting was held at the Birchandra State Central Library on Monday. The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Minority Welfare Department- Sahid Chowdhury. The sub-division level Jari Sari Utsav has to be finished by January 31, next, the decision was adopted in the meeting.
Altogether 8 sub-divisions- Dharmanagar, Kailasahar, Kamalpur, Sadar, Bishalghar, Sonamura, Udaipur and Amarpur would host the Jari Sari Utsav in sub-division level. The participants would contest in seven events. Among them, the first position baggers will be participated in state level festival.
To make the Jari Sari Utsav a grand success, a managing committee and a working committee was formed. Minister Sahid Chowdhury was chosen as the chairman of both committees.
During the meeting, secretary of Minority Welfare Department- Samarjit Bhowmik, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department- Santanu Debbarma, officials from concerned department and the representatives of Waqf Board from different sub-divisions were remained present.
