At around 12 noon on Wednesday, a procession was organized by the Belonia subdivision committee of the leftist student youth organization in the market area of the city. The procession started from the CPIM Belonia sub-divisional office. The agitators held discussions protesting against the privatization of education.  

Leftist student youths raised their voices in today's procession saying that financial burden should not be imposed on students by wrapping quality prey and making education private under BJP Government's Divya Jyoti scheme. Former DYFI leader and CPIM Belonia subdivisional secretary Tapas Datta, SFI Belonia subdivision president Sukanta Majumder, TSU subdivisional secretary Gautam Riang, DYFI Belonia divisional committee president Ripu Saha were present at the procession.
