AGARTALA, 24 (TIWN): For the benefit of farmers Sanjukta Kishan Morcha and other CPI-M organisations organized a massive rally in the City Agartala with 10 points demand. Many opposition leaders and leaders from other states delivered speeches in the programme.

Pabitra Kar in the programme said, “Biplab Deb’s BJP govt brought miserable conditions in farmer’s life. Farmers, Jumiya and Khet Majoor are unable to harvest in their farm lands as they are not getting enough help from the Govt”.

In last month farmers faced huge losses due to cyclone but allegedly no help received from Govt, claimed kar in the programme.

“Shortage of fertilisers, seeds and pesticides in Govt Storage room, oppositely the farmers are purchasing the fertilisers from private shops with more than double cost”, stated kar. He also stated that the SRI system is running but almost remains in a closed state.

The machine which is used for irrigation 75% remains in Paralysed shape, CPIM workers earlier visited the Chief Engineer and asked to repair but the Chief Engineer informed them as the repair will not go forward as there is shortage of budget, alleged Kar.

However, No report is available of generating new Rubber field, betel field , tea field, no new scheme is available, oppositely old schemes was shut down by the ruling govt.
