AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Herd of Elephants entered public places and created frenzy circumstances, vandalized 3-4 houses on Wednesday night at DM Colony village in Teliamura.
Around 4-5 Wild Elephants ransacked houses and damaged stored paddy and other necessary belongings in the houses. Locals alleged this is the first time Wild Elephants rushed to Public houses as it never happened before. However locals chased away the Wild Elephants by burning woods, papers at their houses.
Locals alleged irresponsible behavior received from the Forest Department as the officials did not rush at the spot in due time despite informing the officials of the concerned department.
There would not have been so much damage, if the Forest Department officials rushed to the spot in due time, claimed terrified local people
