AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): Miscreants’ burnt paddy by pouring petrol at midnight, the incident took place late Saturday night at around 1:30 minutes on the road adjacent to Loknath Ashram in Saraseema area of Bilonia, under Hrishyamukh Assembly Constituency.
It is known that Ratan Sarkar, a resident of Saraseema picked up his paddy and left the rest on road for drying on Saturday night. But miscreants set fire to his paddy which was lying on road. A car while returning home from attending marriage noticed the fire and started shouting, local people heard shout rush to the spot and informed the fire department of Belonia.
Upon receiving the news, the Bilonia Fire Department rushed and brought the fire under control with the help of the locals, but a huge amount of paddy of 1 acre land was burnt to ashes.
The damage amount is estimated to be around Rs 25,000.
