AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Miscreants destroyed betel garden of a Poor farmer, incident took place in the 6th ward area of Jalai gram panchayat.
According to the details of the incident, Nibas Ranjan Datta, a permanent resident of 5th ward of Jalai gram panchayat built a betel orchard on his land in 6th ward area by borrowing money. Almost 400 betel trees were planted. When Ranjan Dutta visited in his field on Wednesday, he suddenly saw some betel trees were lying on the ground.
The helpless poor farmer informed the local Panchayat members on Wednesday, on receiving such information they rushed to the spot and witnessed the incident. Affected farmer Nibas Ranjan Datta demanded exemplary punishment against the miscreants those who were involved in the incident and also sought help from the panchayat and sub-divisional administration.
However, a case was filed in Kailashahar police station on behalf of the helpless farmer.
