AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): Meeting the Director of Education Department on November 10, JMC 10323 teachers organization requested the Education Director to give some clarifications to their legal queries, which were submitted again and again to the Department previously. But even after the last submission of the queries on November 10, it has now been more than a month but so far the Director could not give any reply. JMC also sought the status report of the investigating committee which was constituted last year to find out the culprits behind the 10323 teachers’ recruitment alleged scandal.

JMC further asked based on which writ petition they were terminated and if they were terminated why termination letters have not been given?

The terminated 10323 teachers had asked the Tripura Govt to immediately terminate the 37 Science teachers who are still in a job after being recruited in 2012 under the same policy of the 2003’s recruitment of 10323 teachers.

Ahead of today’s meeting, 10323 JMC member Bijoy Krishna Saha said that on November 30, 2021, High Court has clearly stated what to do but the Govt is not discontinuing these science teachers’ services.

“Tripura Govt has regularized all science teachers. But among the science teachers, 37 persons who filed a case against our jobs challenging our recruitment process were recruited in 2012 under the same policy as our recruitment policy which was considered faulty by the High Court and later Supreme Court. If our jobs are gone, how are their jobs valid yet? Earlier under Chief Justice Akil Kureshi and now on 30th November, a single bench of the High Court has given the same verdict. We demand discontinuation of the 37 teachers’ jobs. We already placed our legal queries to the Education Director but as promised if within 10 days we do not get our replies then we will go into protest. At the same time, we are going for contempt of court case”, the JMC member told the media.
