AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Though the BJP led State Govt in Tripura is least bothered by the oppositions’ protests against the privatization of Govt schools, protesters continue to voice against the unprecedented decision made by the state in a move to welcome privatizing Govt built schools. In Agartala, CPI-M’s student and youth wings SFI, TSU, DYFI, TYF in a joint press conference urged the Govt to withdraw the decision. Protests were staged in villages, semi-urban, urban areas too.

In the Gandachera protest, a TSU leader said after handing over Tripura schools to CBSE, Rs. 1000 will be collected annually by schools. What’s the guarantee that every year such fees will not be hiked?

SFI State Secretary Sandeepan Deb in Agartala press meet has said, “Why only 100 Schools? All Schools must function in the same way and if Vidya Jyoti can uplift Tripura schools, why only 100 schools were selected from particular areas? Will it not discriminate between town and rural schools ?”

SFI further demanded that the Govt must withdraw the decision of privatization and develop schools under TBSE.

The student wing alleged, by hyping about CBSE, Tripura Govt is making TBSE just an inferior institution.

“If private sectors can develop the schools, why can’t the Govt develop schools? Day by day TBSE’s impression has been drained. At the same time, job recruitment will also decline heavily”, said Deb.

Sandeepan Deb further said in the name of Vidya Jyoti, Tripura Education Minister is trying to suppress the reality.

Recently it was also asked, how Shishu Bihar-like schools are under low enrolment?
