AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): Education system which has already collapsed in Tripura under the BJP Govt is now towards total perish. If terminated 10323 teachers’ 'vacant posts' are counted, Tripura Govt has not recruited a single teacher in Tripura schools and only a few teachers through TET are recruited which is far from mitigating 10323 teachers’ vacant posts. It means, Tripura Govt has not added a single teacher in the last four years, but the Govt has handed over many schools to CBSE after shutting around 960 schools in the state. Now, the Govt of Tripura has taken an extreme decision to privatize the schools of Tripura which include even Umakanta Academy, Sishu Bihar-like schools.
Criticism has erupted from various sectors but the Govt has not discussed the matter in Assembly even and just desperately moving towards ‘business modeling’ of State-run schools.
The question arises, why MLA, Ministers’ posts are also privatized and why should they be getting pensions from Govt funds once their tenures are over?
However, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath claimed, teachers, will be recruited by Tripura Govt only.
25% students will get free education whereas now 100% of students are getting free education.
