AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): SSA Teachers’ Association leader Bastab Debbarma has reminded SSA teachers about the same deadly consequences as 10323 teachers if they can not unite urgently for a bigger movement. Reacting over deaths of four teachers recently: 1) Jayanta Saha, of Ambassa, 2)Tapan Sarkar, Pecharthal, 3) Ratna Debbarma, Khumlwng, 4) Sudhir Debbarma, SSA Teachers Association leader Bastab Debbarma said, “We must help the families and donate at least Rs. 200 each to help them, though this is not the solution we have to think for them beyond our self-centric thinking. Moreover, since 2018 no protest could be organized properly against the injustice done to us by the Govt and the Govt’s attitude will not change if we can’t organize protests. We must come forward to snatch our rights, otherwise, our conditions will also be like 10323 teachers".

"The four teachers died due to tension as the Govt could not regularize them”, said Bastab Debbarma.

He further asked, how can a Govt seek TET as criteria when the SSA teachers were recruited much before the TET exams had started.

BJP before the 2018 election promised to regularize all contractual employees and also the incumbent CM and Education Minister supported SSA teachers’ protest demanding regularization during Left Govt’s time.
