AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar who is now the opposition leader in Tripura Legislative Assembly, also served as CM of Tripura from 1998 to March 2018, for the fourth consecutive time is now maintaining silence despite of extreme Poll rigging under Biplab Deb Govt.
Where CPI-M leader Jiten Choudhury, Pabitra Kar and many other CPI-M heavy weight leaders are condemning the Poll rigging and booth capturing manik Sarkar has not given single statement.
Opposition leader Manik Sarkar eye catching silent mode generating various question among CPI-M supporters. Whereas the CPI-M party leaders gheraoed West PS Agartala and protested on the Poll day on 25th Nov centering the Poll rigging, Booth Capturing and for not allowing Polling Agents in the Voting centres, Manik Sarkar was not spotted anywhere.
Sarkar was not even seen during the Poll Day while casting vote.
BJP on Sunday secured a clean sweep while the Trinamool Congress emerged as a strong political force in the Tripura civic elections for which polling was held on November 25. But the entire poll was held amid terror and massive rigging. Left, TMC and Tipra Motha all the anti-BJP parties have criticized the BJP for its massive poll violence and intimidation. At the same time parties also condemned the Election Commission and Police’s role. Reacting over Tripura CM Biplab Deb’s statement of ‘Public mandate in support of BJP’, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury said ‘If it is a Public Mandate who were the ones who alleged that they could not cast votes. Such videos along with rigging videos are viral in social media". TMC has claimed it has emerged as the second strongest party in Tripura after BJP, whereas Left has rubbished the claim.
