AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): In a situation of extreme rigging where the common voters were not even allowed to cast their vote, Tripura has set an example of Mockery of Democracy by celebrating the forgery win in Municipal poll. Massive violence against the opposition candidates and even common voters who belong to no party were restricted from entering the booth, from journalists to senior citizens were attacked under broad day light however, all these incidents failed to grab Election Commission's attention before declaring BJP's win in Tripura Municipal Poll, 2021.
Whereas BJP is busy in celebrating the mockery win since the early morning of Sunday, statewide violence against opposition party members, candidates are expected considering the previous history. During the Panchayat election and the victory after 2018's assembly election, many opposition activist's home was set on fire, vandalised and they couldn't enter in their houses for weeks. On the one side BJP's hooliganism has created a situation of terror across the State, on the other, it has made the common people frustrated and decreased BJP's popularity to a great extent under CM Biplab Deb's dictatorship.
Centering the poll rigging in Tripura Municipal Poll, TMC has decided to move to Supreme Court. Various evidences including video clips of Booth rigging, attacks on common people including senior citizens are present. Now it is to see what action Supreme Court takes to re-establish the power of Democracy in the State.
