AGARTALA, Nov 23 (TIWN): Tripura’s massive violence, naked attacks on democracy has been condemned by BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Tuesday. Calling a press conference along with BJP MLA Asish Saha, Sudip Roy Barman cleared his stand against violence, slammed the Home Minister and the State Election Commission for the anarchy and lawlessness existing in the state. Addressing media, Sudip Barman said, “This is not Sabka-Sath, sabka Vikas”. If it was about “Vikas”, elections could be held on developmental issues and if it was about “Sabka Sath” why the other party candidates, journalists are brutally attacked ? Unfortunately, neither Sabka Sath, nor Sabka Vikas is applicable in Tripura”.
“No positive mindset and only personal attacks are going on. No minimum courtesy is being maintained. Earlier, the State Election Commission recorded speeches and issued notice to the violent orators. Has a single notice been served this time after so many barbaric statements by various MLAs ?”, asked Barman.
Sudip Barman further mentioned, the CPI-M mafias' names were listed for filing cases against them. It was done before the 2018 poll but surprisingly, now the same mafias are attacking the oppositions.
"Election rigging happened in CPI-M era too but now it is worst...", Barman added.
“Why the police officers silent and not arresting a single person ? The fool paratrooper (Biplab Deb) does not understand that it is creating massive anti-incumbency among people. Firings are going on in opposition candidates' houses. I know all the mafias are from CPI-M, who joined BJP after 3rd March, 2018”, said Sudip Barman.
The MLA further appealed people to come forward and cast their votes, saying, “A coward dies many times before death. Go for war against the hooligans and cast your vote. I appeal to the clubs to help the voters”, said Sudip Barman.
