AGARTALA, Nov 17 (TIWN): Despite the COVID surge being normal, Tripura police booked around 30-35 TMC activists, who came from Bengal to work in Tripura Municipal Poll.

Police stated, “We Just came to interrogate them to know about the reason behind their arrival in Tripura and whether they maintained COVID Protocol or not”.

Police’s sudden raid without proper reason has been condemned by TMC Municipal Poll candidate Baptu Chakraborty.

He said, “Anyone can come from any state for campaigning but after campaigning date ends as per Election Commission's guidelines, if any outsider stays then Police can arrest him, but what police have done this is illegal. We will fight it legally as our four workers were arrested yesterday without any reason".
