AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): 50 to 60 families living under terrible situation after giving their property for 206B Alternative National Highway in exchange of money alleged no money received even after completion of 8/9 months. Later the families locked Construction company officials in protest with demand to return their due amount. The incident took place on Tuesday morning in Baragul via Kadamtala under Saraspur area of Kadamtala in North Tripura.

Out of angst, locals of Kadamtala area of Assam-Tripura border, who are living in miserable situation without home and food, locked AKCC Construction company officials with demand to return their deserved money. Reportedly, for alternative National Highway Govt officials took land and houses in exchange of money, and almost 8/9 months crossed but the AKCC Company did not return their money. Resulting, 50 to 60 shelters less families without food are going through miserable situation, the matter was raised to the DM, but no solution was forthcoming.

Over the negligence of Govt officials including Construction company the locals of Kadamtala area locked the company officials inside office. The demand raised whether the NH would be in progress or not but to pay their dues. The locals have drawn the attention of the CM to the entire matter

To control the situation and to rescue the company worker, Police of Kadamtala PS and Kadamtala Block Chairman along with Project Head Tapas Hazra were present at the spot. Finally, with the assurance of Chairman Subrata Deb, the agitated crowd unlocked the engineer managers.
