AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Tripura BJP Govt’s constant attempts to suppress media voices and intimidating media persons if the Govt is bare and open now in the global platforms. 2 months back in broad daylight, newspaper houses were vandalized, set on fire by BJP Party leaders and activists in the state’s capital city Agartala and police literally failed to take minimum action and now the harassment of media persons is no more limited within the state but two women journalists who came to Tripura and broadcasted Tripura violence were detained in Assam and arrested by Tripura police though both the journalists got immediate bails. At the same time starting from September 8 media house vandalizing, torching incidents to Tripura violence and now arrests of journalists, Tripura’s dictator governance’s face has been exposed before the world.

From BBC to many international medias have covered the shocking incident which not only spoiled Tripura’s reputation again but also the trend of administrative attacks on journalists in India exposed to the world.

In a tight slap from the Court to the BJP led Tripura Govt, HW News Network journalists were released on bail by Gomati District Tripura. Senior Advocate Pijush Biswas appeared on behalf of the arrested journalists Samriddhi K.Sakunia and Swarnna Jha. After they were detained by Assam Police and brought to Tripura both of them were arrested but immediately the Court gave relief with the bail order. Both the women journalists were reporting on Tripura violence and were leaving the state and in Assam, they were detained and then arrested by Tripura police. In less than 24 hours, the  journalists were released.

 Based on Viswa Hindu Parishad's complaint police turned proactive to arrest both the journalists ---  1) Samriddhi K.Sakunia and 2) Swarnna Jha .As per the details, the two young journalists Samriddhi K.Sakunia and Swarnna Jha who are employees of HW News Channel network were detained in Karimganj, Assam.

The Viswa Hindu Parishad group which itself is prime accused for organizing communal violence in Tripura’s various parts did not come under police action yet but based the accused group member's complaint against the two reporters for ‘criminal conspiracy’ BJP ruled Assam Govt took the action. 

The two journalists were returning from Tripura to their own land and were detained.

Tripura’s dictator regime is being criticized nationwide and recently over hundreds of cases with UAPA charges have been taken by the Police here over social media posts and statements on Tripura violence.
